Shameek is Chief Data Officer (CDO) at Standard Chartered Bank, and a member of the bank’s global Operations Management Team. As CDO, Shameek is responsible for Data/ AI Strategy and governance (sovereignty, portability, ethics, quality). He plays a key role in shaping the bank’s response to regulatory/ industry initiatives on Data/ AI (e.g., as a member of the MAS’ Veritas initiative, the Bank of England’s Public-Private partnership on AI and the OECD’s Global Partnership on AI).
Prior to this, Shameek led the bank’s technology teams for Finance, Risk and Compliance, its Big Data/ analytics platforms, and innovation. In these roles, he played a key role in enabling the Group’s innovation agenda through engagement and experimentation with Technology start-ups.
Shameek joined Standard Chartered Bank in August 2009 from McKinsey. In 2018, he became a fellow of the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), Singapore.
