Kayelle is currently a Data Branch Manager in the Department of Social Security. Kayelle is leading the National Disability Data Asset project in collaboration with colleagues working in the disability stream at DSS, the ABS and the AIHW. This is large scale data sharing across all government s of Australia to improve the lives of people with a disability. Kayelle is also responsible DSS’ data sharing and data integration, long-term predictive analysis of Australians’ future use of income support and provides analytical services to DSS. Kayelle has previously been responsible for all income support reporting. In 2024, Kayelle was nominated for an APS Data Leadership award and is regularly acknowledged by peers as being one of the most influential APS women in data.
Prior to joining DSS, Kayelle was the inaugural Chief Data Officer for the Department of Industry ,Science and Resources. During her five year tenure, Kayelle transformed DISR’s data to an internal data service that was recognised by Ministers and peers as leading in the APS. Previously, Kayelle was a Senior Executive Service Officer in the Department of Finance where she worked across the organisation on Governance, data, Public Financial Management, the Federal Budget and ICT. Kayelle holders a Master’s degree in Health and Information Technology.
