The Commonwealth Bank is investigating after customers took to social media this morning to complain about being unable to access their accounts.
The spate of complaints included business owners who have complained of losing sales because of failing eftpos terminals.
A spokesperson from CBA told FST Media the bank is aware of the problem and have an idea of what the cause is, but are unable to confirm or release any more information until they are certain.
The issue has been reported across the bank’s mobile app, online banking and ATM network.
In a statement the bank apologised for the inconvenience and is working to resolve the issue.
“We are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues with our systems. We apologise for the inconvenience to customers. The cause of the problem is under urgent investigation and we are working to have full services restored as a matter of priority.”
UPDATE: The bank released an updated statement saying, “Commonwealth Bank restored services at 9am this morning and we apologise to all our customers affected by this issue.”
